How to Produce an Authentic Rusted Finish in Your Attraction
by Haunt Force, Brutal Rust

Description – Great haunted attractions engage their patrons with attention to detail by using major components like rust to create that distressed look. This hands-on class will cover how to create a rusted finish on virtually everything relevant to the scenes in a typical attraction. Shayne will discuss and demonstrate how to bring an added level of authenticity to your production. Attendees will take home a decorative rusted cross that they can utilize anywhere.

Sculpting Basics Demo with RJ Haddy

Description – Rj Haddy from the hit TV show FaceOff will take attendees through the various sculpting mediums that FX artists use, oil base clay, water based clay, polymer clays, and a general overview of how they are all utilized to created monsters and appliance character make-ups. He will create a custom sculpt while attendees take notes and ask questions about his techniques.

Realistic Life-Like Prop Eyes On A Budget

Description – They say that the eyes are windows into the soul, and the hardest part of creating a realistic life-like looking prop, is realistic eyes. Glass eyes are great, you can stick them in a goofy looking prop or even a glob of sprayfoam and the whole prop takes on a creepy more eerie look. But, glass eyes are expensive, in this workshop, Michael Burnett will show you how to make realistic life like looking eyes yourself for a fraction of what you can buy glass eyes for. the class includes all materials and instructions to make two sets of life-like prop eyes.

About HAuNTcon

An acronym for the Haunted Attraction National Tradeshow and Conference, HAuNTcon is a celebration of people who love Haunted Houses and Halloween. It is three days and nights jam-packed full of Networking, Tours of area Haunted Attractions, educational seminars, make-n-takes teaching the latest is Haunting techniques and a tradeshow exhibiting the latest in Haunting props and equipment.

Started in April of 2004 in Charlotte, North Carolina, HAuNTcon moved to Dallas, Texas in 2005, Denver, Colorado in 2006, Dearborn, Michigan in 2007, Houston Texas in 2008, Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 2009 and Orlando Florida in 2010 and is scheduled to be in Louisville, Kentucky in 2011, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in 2012, Dallas, Texas in 2013, Houston, Texas in 2014 and Baton Rouge, Louisiana in 2015.

Offerings include an over-night pre-show bus tour of state wide Haunted attractions, tours of local Haunted attractions, tradeshow floor, costume ball, haunted garage sale, hearse rally and Haunter education including workshops, make-up and product demonstrations, and prop how-to make-n-takes.

HAuNTcon is open to the general public and all ages are welcome to attend. If you operate a Haunted House or would like to, If you act at a Halloween Event or would like to, if you Haunt your Home, or if you are just a fan of Haunted Houses and Halloween, then HAuNTcon is a "not to be missed" weekend of Haunting fellowship, Haunt tours and just plain fun!

An entry fee is required for each activity.
