The Dungeon KeeperThe Prop DropperTalking Skull KitPeanut Butter Monster Detector

With overwhelmingly positive reader feedback, we have decided to dedicate the whole Halloween issue to the Haunted Attraction Industry and Haunters of all sizes!

This packed Halloween-themed issue is loaded with new and exciting uses of electronics for props and animations that you can apply to your own projects. Today’s cutting edge haunted attractions use various technologies for special effects. Electronics such as LED lighting, motion sensors, solenoid valves, microcontrollers, DMX control systems, MP3 players, sound systems, and more are all “in the Haunter’s tool bag” of tricks and this Halloween Special Edition explores using electronics to enhance your haunt’s experience and to create amazing special effects for your attendees!

From simple circuits like glowing LED eyes or sound-activated “thunder and lightning” systems, to complicated microcontroller-managed programmable sequencers for servos, this Special Edition of the magazine is a real mix of useful, interesting, and inspiring projects. Just some of the article topics scheduled to appear are:

  • The Evolution of Projectors — Haunting With Light
  • Build the Peek-A-Boo Servo Operated Desktop Ghost
  • Create Your Own Monster Book
  • Haunting 101 — 13 Scary Projects for Your Haunted House
  • Secrets of the Monster in a Box
  • PICAXE Haunt Control Systems

These topics are useful to every level of haunter, from yard haunts DYI to pro Haunters. Each article will inspire you with detailed descriptions of complex animatronics, simple prop mechanisms, and haunt control systems. Some of the editorial will showcase complete project kits that can be purchased through our webstore or directly from our advertisers.
