Blood, Rust and Disgust: Faux Paint Techniques For Your Haunt

Description: Don't touch that grimy wall or cut your hand on that rusted pipe. Oh wait, sure you can, it's all fake. In this workshop, Rich Cimino of Bentcirkus FX, will demonstrate faux paint techniques for blood splatter, rusty finishes and all around disgusting scenic FX that will take your haunt to the next level of realism and gross-out factor. Some attendees will even have a chance to practice these techniques during the session.

Description: Get your hands dirty learning how to create your own creepy props. Heather and Jim Wrightwill demonstrate various tools, materials, and techniques you can use to make props for your haunt. You'll get to watch a live demonstration on foam carving when Heather carves a large crow from a solid block of foam using only a hot knife and carving knife. After that they will walk you through step by step how to create your own mini masterpiece that you can take home with you. This Class has a Material Charge of $45 per attendee.

Description: The eyes are windows into the soul, and the hardest part of creating a life like looking prop, is realistic lifelike eyes. Add realistic eyes to even a goofy looking prop or just a glob of spray-foam and the whole prop takes on a creepy more eerie look. In this make n take workshop, Michael and Lynne Burnett will show you how to make realistic life like eyes for a fraction of what it can cost to buy glass eyes. This is a great adult as well as parent/child activity! You will learn: Different materials to use for eye forms and how to them, painting and veining techniques, how to add a bubble free clear coat. At the end of the class, you will have two sets of your very own prop eyes to take home with you! Due to the amount of information we must cover, seats are limited. Description: Every horror film icon has his or her weapon of choice but how do the filmmakers create these scary scenes and keep all the actors safe? Rubber stunt weapons of course! In this workshop, Special Makeup Effects artists Michael and Lynne Burnett will demonstration how to mold and cast real props, then you will learn hands on to seam, assemble and finish your very own realistic film quality urethane foam stunt axe! This is a great adult as well as parent/child activity! You will learn: Silicone molding process, Casting urethane foam in a silicone mold, assembling your stunt prop, painting and weathering techniques. At the end of the class, you will have your very own finished urethane rubber stunt axe that you can use for Halloween or when you shoot the next great slasher film! Due to the amount of information we must cover, seats are limited. Please arrive a few minutes early to the class.
